Silver Strikers goalkeeper Steven Micheta is expected to be out of contention for the goalkeeping position after he got injured on Saturday during an FDH Bank cup encounter in Dedza.
Micheta who was trusted in the sticks for the game, gave a spirited performance in the away fixture at the Dedza Stadium up until the 75th minute when his injury occurred during the course of the game.
Silver Strikers team doctor Chikondi Kaminga says, “Steve has a meniscal injury in the knee joint and it will take him not less than 4 weeks to heal”.
Kaminga also told this publication that Micheta has currently been assessed and also is already in a Plaster of Paris(POP) to effect and fast track the healing process.
Micheta this season has played 5 games, keeping four clean sheets during his short stint in goals for the Sky-blues.
The injury leaves Silver Strikers with two keepers in Charles Thom and Charles Chisale who is yet to turn out for the Silver senior team in competitive games.
