Thom v Dedza

Silver Strikers FC bowed out of the second edition FDH bank Cup competition after being beaten 5-4 in post-match penalties by a resilient Dedza Dynamos.

The Bankers who were held to a goalless draw at the Dedza stadium were the defending champions as they won the first edition in 2021.

Despite several attempts by both teams the cup game ended in regulation time at a deadlock in a match that saw fans throng the stadium in droves to watch the most appetizing brand of football.

It was Patrick Macheso’s spot kick that was a decider as Dedza Keeper palmed it away to keep the bankers out of the round of 16 and make the sky blues bow out in the round of 32.

The loss is the fourth time the bankers have suffered defeat this season in all competitions with all three other times being away as well.
