Silver Strikers finished their first round of games in the TNM super league with the resounding hard fought victory in Dwangwa over hosts MAFCO FC.

The Salima Soldiers fell short of captain Mike Roberts’ low volley into the Blessings Kameza net including a late sweetener by Chawanangwa Kaonga who beat the MAFCO defence in added time to take the tally to 2 nil in favor of the visitors.

The Bankers have endured a torrid first round which has seen them collect just 26 points from 15 games losing 3 on the road, drawing at least 5 times and winning only 7 games in this calendar year.

Despite having such an ordeal the bankers have not lost at home having lost to Red Lions in their opening fixture this term before losing to Blue Eagles and also Bullets FC in their worst defeat.

During the last four matches that have been played in under 3 weeks the skyblues have drawn once and winning thrice consecutively, a first this year.

The next fixture is a title defense which starts away to a stubborn Dedza Dynamos in the FDH Bank Cup round of 32 which the bankers are the current champions having beat Ekwendeni Hammers in the inaugural year.
