Silver Strikers have secured their first 3 points after a 1-0 win against league debutants Rumphi United in a fixture that saw the Central Bankers return at the Silver Stadium in the 2022 season.
The debutants wanted to create memories and have their names engraved in history as they sought their first points in the top flight league for the first time.
But it was Silver’s Talisman Chawanangwa Kaonga who showed zeal and tact after scoring the lone goal of the game from the spot after being brought down in Rumphi United’s 18-yard box following a dangerous attack on the left side of the Silver attack line.
The goal was enough to grant Kabwe his first 3 points at home and in the league as Rumphi defended deep in their half to thwart any attempts by Silver to get a second goal to seal the victory.
Silver welcome rivals Civil Service United in a Lilongwe derby at home next weekend in their 3rd game of the TNM Super league.
