Silver Strikers collected maximum points as they faced a resilient Blue Eagles Side that had more to lose in the game that placed them closer to the relegation zone as they fight to remain in the league.
Sitting at 46 points before the game, the bankers were searching for 3 points having lost twice in the league in their outings to Blantyre with Bullets and the most recent past, Tigers FC and facing Blue Eagles today they did not relent but fought hard to earn the 3 points.
Blessings Tembo received a low pass from the left flank to shoot into John Soko’s net to give the hosts a lead which was cancelled after Paul Master who came in for Injured Micium Mhone struck a volley into the Silver goal to give the visitors hope until the Half time mark ended on level terms.
The second half started with pomp and flair but either side could not convert up until the 80th minute when Stain Davie scored with ease his 9th goal in the league to take the Bankers lead to 2-1 with 10 minutes left to play.
And it ended 2-1 after the final whistle by Alfred Chilinda to take Silver to 49 points joint with league leaders Nyasa Big Bullets who had a goalless draw at the end of 90 minutes in Mzuzu, against Mzuzu Warriors.
