A debut goal is what marked Frank Banda’s return to Silver Strikers after months of not being featured since joining last December on a free transfer.
Frank left Silver in 2014 soon after winning the league in the 2013/14 season to go to Mozambique till last year when his contract ended whilst featuring for UD Songo in the Mocambola league.
With the Covid-19 situation in the country, Banda had to wait for almost the whole first round to conclude before being available for selection in the match against MAFCO last weekend in which he scored the opener in the 3-2 victory at the Silver Stadium.
“It was good to be back on the field of play, and scoring a goal has surely reminded people of the kind of player I am’’, says the soft spoken midfielder. He further added that the coaches took time to encourage him to be ready as playing was imminent and that he must be ready when called upon.
Banda says, ‘Game time is important to every player and to get some minutes after coming back in the super league is important to me’.
Silver play TN Stars in their next fixture, and it is away from home as the match is slated for Saturday 29th May 2021 in Kasungu.
