Silver Strikers won their game at the Silver stadium with fans present by beating Chitipa United 2 goals to 1 in the TNM super league.
Silver started on the front foot as Duncan Nyoni terrorized the Chitipa defence leading to a spot kick which Stenie Davie failed to convert to take hi level with Phodo at 9 goals. However, Mark fodya placed a ball to the left side of Nyoni who cleverly pushed to his right to take the bankers 1-0 to half time.
With the second half in the first fifteen minutes Silver displayed a good number of passes and attempted at goal several times with the breakthrough coming after Nyoni picked out Patrick Macheso to put the lead at 2 nil.
Chitipa got their consolation as a long range shot deflected to get out of reach of goalkeeper Brighton Munthali in goals. The teams almost struck a balance till the final whistle at the Silver Stadium.
Chitipa coach Chris Nyambose was adamant that despite being threatened by relagation they will not be out of the league as they have wrapped their 15 games of the first round with Silvers Dan Kabwe telling this website that the 3 points were vital as his charges looked to be complacent but managed to force the game to remain is Silvers favor.
Silvers’ Chikondi Kamanga was voted man of the match.
