Silver Strikers continued to secure their home record at the Silver Stadium by winning their game against Moyale which was the third at home by a 5-1 margin.
Silver were behind midway through the first half by a Gastin Simkonda strike after a defensive blunder by Silver, but equalized through a thunderbolt shot on the left wing by winger Duncan Nyoni to take the bankers level.
Good saves from Brighton Munthali made sure Silver were in the game as Moyale sought a second, good blocks from Mwase and Wayekha made sure that the central bankers were still in the game.
Silver carried on by having a solid backline and an attacking mindset with Stenie Davie and Maxwell Phodo searching for goals and were found after 40 minutes of play in the first half. Phodo put silver ahead after Moyale failed to clear a Davie shot which rebounded after hitting the bar. Soon after Davie found the third goal of the game after Thuso paipi found him unmarked, a beautiful flick leaving Moyale’s Nkhwazi helpless.
Davie and Phodo continued to torment Nkhwazi who in the second half picked the ball twice from his net to take the goal tally to 5-1 in favour of the bankers. Moyale changed their backline twice, as they failed to cope with the waves of attack Silver was bringing, it was a thrilling encounter all in all.
Dan Kabwe told this website in a post-match interview that he was taking each game as it comes after the victory placed Silver second with 16 points today.
This is the second 5-1 margin against a military side at the Silver Stadium.
