Patrick Macheso has joined the senior training at the Silver Stadium today as he comes back from a knee injury sustained when Silver Strikers hosted Red Lions in a preseason training match in early November.
Due to his injury, he started light training in the week preceding the game and was not part of the squad that faced Civil Service United in the league opening fixture for the Area 47 giants which Silver Strikers lost last Sunday in the Lilongwe derby.
However, with him joining training it will give Daniel Kabwe some creative options from midfield as the team prepares to face Beforward Wanderers at the Kamuzu Stadium next Saturday in Blantyre in the second away fixture of the season.
Other players that have joined training today include Trevor Kalema and youngster Phillip Banda who was sent home in the eleventh hour as the Under-20 national football team left for the COSAFA tournament hosted by South Africa.
Silver players such as Hadji Wali, Innocent Shema, Zebron Kalima, Maxwell Paipi, and Reserve goalkeeper Emmance Nyirenda have been taken by the Patrick Mabedi side to represent Malawi at the tournament.
