Silver Strikers’ enterprising defender Hadji Wali has survived covid-19 having tested positive prior to the Flames call-up. The starlet went into self-isolation for the mandatory 10 days and tested negative after a second test.
Wali has applauded the FA taskforce on covid-19 on how they handled his situation and by providing him a personal counsellor who guided him during the seclusion period.
“My family, FAM and my club Silver Strikers were checking on me quite regularly and that helped my recovery process” said Wali who was visibly relieved.
Chairperson of the covid-19 taskforce at the Football Association Chimango Munthali was excited on the recovery of Hadji. “We adhered to the protocols, we assured him and we as an FA know he is the future of Malawian football so it was a big blow when he tested positive.” said Munthali.
Munthali together with FAM Competitions Manager Gome Zakazaka physically visited Hadji Wali in a company of a doctor who counselled him. Silver Striker CEO, Thokozani Chimbali also heaped praise on Football Association of Malawi (FAM) by showcasing that it was not segregating him during his time in isolation, FAM travelled all the way from Blantyre with a doctor to counsel him and kept on checking on him.
Hadji Wali is the first player to come out in the open on his covid-19 status. He joined the Flames camp on Friday, 25th September 2020.
Silver Strikers has other three players in the flames camp namely: Brighton Munthali, Duncan Nyoni and Foster Bitoni
