Daniel Kabwe has warned his charges against being complacent in their individual training sessions as there is uncertainty over football restart in the country amidst the covid-19 pandemic.

Kabwe has told his players not to take their fitness levels for granted. “A professional footballer has to know how to train and stay fit individually so as to not be alarmed should football all resume”, said the Silver Strikers head coach.

Reacting following the Flames exemption to go into camp, the Silver coach has also stated that government should have allowed clubs to resume training. “They have allowed a wing of football and not the whole body, but all in all it is a good start and we are hopeful that they will give us the go ahead next week Thursday”, said Kabwe.

Silver Strikers FC players have been monitored during the break using video platforms so that the coaching staff can check their training sessions as instructed before the football suspension.

Kabwe has since told his players that nobody is guaranteed a place in his team as everyone has an equal chance of making the grade provided they perform well on the training ground. Everybody has had the same amount of time to keep themselves fit and redeem themselves during the extended break due to the virus outbreak in the country last march.

Silver Strikers came 3rd in the TNM super league last season before almost 20 players were axed from the team in February this year due to performance and discipline related issues.
