Silver Stadium has undergone intensive renovations since last February so as to improve the playing field of the elite team that is Silver Strikers FC.

The stadium came under heavy scrutiny last season as it showed lack of a quality playing field which coincided with Kabwe’s sentiments that the stadium must be closed for renovations.

Fast forward to September, Daniel Kabwe who is Head coach says the stadium renovations are getting better as they are almost through in Area 47.

‘We have come a long way for the stadium to look the way it is more especially the pitch’, said Kabwe.

Football is yet to resume in Malawi after it was suspended last March due to the Corona pandemic.

  1. This is some great news from my dear club… bravo to the team who put in some efforts in coming up with such work… bravo

  2. Our team is reknown for its passing game. Our own pitch has been a hindrance in that despite renovations in the past, the playing surface has inceasingly been bumpy. We hope that this time the quality of work done to the pitch is up to standard.

The club should also have competent grounds men so that the pitch quality is mantained throughout the season.

  3. A Banker for Life. Thank you for the development, management of the pitch. The biggest problem with most pitches here in Malawi is lack of proper drainage system. The poor drainage causes water to just stagnates leading to excessive potholes on the pitch. As such even if we put wonderful grass, the potholes will continue to form on the pitch”s surface. Lets put proper and effective drainage systems on the pitches. Thank You
